Haltet Euch fern von diesem Teufelswerk! 

Keine Angst, ich bin jetzt nicht etwa unter die Exorzisten gegangen. Mir wurde nur nahegelegt, das Buch ohne Staben nach Möglichkeit gar nicht erst zu nennen, und wenn dann nur, indem ich schlecht darüber spreche/schreibe.

Immerhin sind die Leser des ersten Teils, dem Buch ohne Namen, schon reihenweise gestorben. Gut, bei der Geschichte konnte das auch passieren, wenn man sich von der Langeweile übermannen ließ. Von den Wenigen, die es dennoch bis zur letzten Seite schafften, fehlt bis heute zudem jede Spur.

Außerdem passiert es nicht alle Tage, dass ein A4 großer Info-Postbrief mit einem auf alt getrimmten Aufdruck in meinen Briefkasten flattert. Vom eigentlichen Absender fehlt dabei jede Spur und ein Aufkleber offenbart dem Überbringer des Umschlags auch nur meine Adresse und keine zusätzlichen Informationen. Erst als ich den Umschlag öffne, rutsch mir daraus ein Buch sowie ein Anschreiben entgegen. Letzteres warnt mich ausgiebig davor, das Buch zu lesen und bei dem mir vorliegenden Exemplar handelt es sich zudem um eine Besonderheit.

Most of you will suspect now, that he will give us some insights of the work behind the curtain of Perplex City, like Andrea did in our previous interview. Others already know that he sometimes walks over the Playstation Home Plaza just to meet with the players of Xi.

What other little secrets will he share with us by answering our questions?

01. About when and how did you get in touch with ARGs

It started back in 2005. I saw an ad in The Guardian newspaper written entirely in code. Unscrambled, it was a call for all kinds of creative people – writers, designers, programmers, directors – for Project Syzygy, which later became known as Perplex City. During the last days and weeks more and more people reported that they had received large envelopes in their mail boxes. In these envelopes they found data sheets of different persons that had been tested on paranormal abilities.

These data sheets included analytical reports of the test candidates, different brain- and awareness-tests and a filmstrip that looked like it was taken at one of those test-sessions. Furthermore there were encrypted and handwritten post it notes on some of the documents, that lead to the website Die-Zeit-Wird-Knapp.de, where a strange green image was shown as well as a countdown.

Now we have the absolute certainty that the Pirates Society is back and they are gathering their strength again. It appears that the 48ers have formed up again, too, planning their next "big thing". What are they really up to? What dark plans are they concoting this time? Can the Pirates Society stopp the 48ers once more with the help of the players? 

If you want to be a pirate, too, you can register yourself on the website of the Pirates Society (www.jointhepirates.com). While you are Boarding you will be asked for an Admission Code, but don't give up hope, if you don't have an admission code, you don't need to enter one. You will be given one after the boarding-process.

This time all revolves about a young man who goes by the name of Nils von Habermann. He is a polar scientist and works for an Arctic-Institute. Therefore he had already been on one or the other expedition when he got to know about some strange contradictions and incidents. (Rückblick) Nach dem Ende des ARGs Um Dr. Grau und den Auserwählten fand durch Auslosung ein Gewinnspiel inklusive offline-Farbjagd in Düsseldorf statt. Dabei gab es als Hauptgewinn eine 39-tägige Weltreise zu gewinnen. Der Spieler Chrisss hat dazu unseren ARG-Reporter Dibtych (Marcus Meier) vor Ort eingeladen. Die Beiden haben live über einen Videostream von der aufregenden Farbjagd berichtet. Für diejenigen, die dieses Ereignis verpasst haben, stellt Dibtych hier noch einmal seinen Erlebnisbericht zusammen. Alle Videos, die die beiden erstellt haben kann man auf qik.com betrachten.

An einen sehr schönen, sehr frühen Samstag Morgen trafen sich Chrisss und ich wie verabredet um die Reise nach Düsseldorf anzutreten. Die Sachen waren gepackt und alles was uns davon abhielt aufzubrechen waren die letzten Schlucke Kaffee, die sich in unseren Tassen befanden. Angeregt diskutierten wir über vergangene ARGs und stellten Spekulationen an, was oder wer uns an diesen schönen Sonntag erwartet. Der einzige Kontakt, den wir bisher mit den Veranstaltern hatten war über e-Mail: Dort wurde uns offenbart, dass wir eingeladen sind und uns eine Offline-GPS-Rallye mit der Aussicht eine Weltreise zu gewinnen erwartete. Angespannt vor Aufregung genehmigten wir uns die letzten Tropfen Kaffee und stiegen ins Auto um Richtung Montabaur zu fahren, denn von dort sollte es mit den ICE weiter nach Düsseldorf gehen. When have you seen your friends lately? Alive?

It was a few days ago when Tim saw his friends for the last time. Since then his friends have gone missing and left him without many traces where he can search for them. Someone unknown placed an envelope in front of Tim's door. In the envelope there was a note reading "Kill Your Darling" and some kind of software that helped Tim to gain access to a weblog called friendslost.de. There Tim is able to post new finds and to keep the viewers up to date. Some unknown person is posting to that weblog, too. This person makes available some videos of Tim's friends that show what is happening to them within the last days.

In the first video we get to know Mike, his friend Nina and their friend Jenny. All three wanted to meet at a club in Berlin. There are some strange rumors in the wild about that club. So we get to know about a man called the "Fratzenmacher". Hi shall be a murderer who stalked his victims years ago at that club, before he teared of the skin of his victims faces, but all these things have been happened a long time ago. Read more ...

In einigen Minuten (21.15 Uhr) startet auf Pro7 eine neue, 10-teilige Serie. Sie entführt uns, wie der Titel bereits verrät, auf eine kleine, abgelegene Insel vor Seattle - nach Harpers Island. Eine illustre Hochzeitsgesellschaft bricht dorthin auf und wir werden schon nach kurzer Zeit Zeuge von etwas, dass sich durch die gesamte Serie hindurch fortsetzen wird - ganz so, wie uns bereits die Mädchenstimme im Vorspann glauben machen will ("One by one" - "Einer nach dem anderen").

Natürlich fragt ihr Euch jetzt zurecht, warum wir darüber berichten, denn es ist ja eine Serie und kein ARG. Das hat einen ganz einfachen Grund. In jeder Folge von Harpers Island wird es mindestens einen Mord geben. Man kann als Zuschauer also mitraten, wer der Mörder ist, der da einen nach dem anderen auf unterschiedlichsten Arten und Weisen um die Ecke bringt. Und wir wollen an dieser Stelle noch einen Schritt weiter gehen und etwas machen, was Pro7 wieder einmal völlig ausser Acht gelassen hat. Wir eröffnen nach der heutigen Folge eine wöchentliche Diskussion, wer in der nächsten Folge das nächste Opfer sein wird.
